Bluegrass Fieldhouse will welcome youth volleyball teams to Owensboro May 7–9, 2027, as JBJ Events brings its Blue Bridge Cup tournament to the new downtown sports facility.
The tournament will feature Premier girls’ volleyball teams competing in age divisions from 12U through 18U, with each team guaranteed seven matches.
JBJ Events organizes youth volleyball tournaments throughout the United States, with events scheduled in nine states during its 2026–2027 season. The Blue Bridge Cup marks the organization’s first event at Bluegrass Fieldhouse.
“We’re thrilled to bring a JBJ event to Owensboro and the Bluegrass Fieldhouse for the first time,” said Jason Jones of JBJ Events. “Owensboro’s welcoming atmosphere, growing sports scene, and vibrant local community make it an incredible destination for youth sports and a great fit for the experience we strive to create for our athletes, coaches, and families.”
The Blue Bridge Cup is another exciting addition to the Fieldhouse’s growing tournament schedule and reflects Owensboro’s continued development as a destination for regional and national youth sports competitions.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome JBJ Events and the Blue Bridge Cup to Owensboro,” said Nicole Blandford, Senior Sales Manager of Sports, Special Events, and Sponsorships for Oak View Group. “The Bluegrass Fieldhouse was built to attract events of this caliber and bring athletes and families from across the country to our community. Having an organization that produces tournaments throughout the United States choose Owensboro for one of its events is a tremendous opportunity for us and for our local hotels, restaurants and businesses.”
Bluegrass Fieldhouse features seven regulation basketball courts that can be configured as 14 volleyball courts, along with spectator seating, a mezzanine viewing area, and modern tournament amenities. The facility is designed to support large-scale competitions while providing a welcoming experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators.
The tournament also coincides with Owensboro’s BBQ & Barrels festival, giving visiting teams and families an opportunity to enjoy one of the city’s signature events and experience its vibrant downtown.
